Setting up any glass teleprompter

Every glass rig works the same way: a phone or tablet lies under angled beam-splitter glass, you read its reflection, and the camera films through the glass from behind. So the software needs to do four things well: mirror the text, put the reading line in front of the lens, keep the scroll smooth, and let you control it without touching the screen.

  1. Mount and frame. Camera behind the glass, hood closed around the lens, frame checked through the camera.
  2. Pick the preset. Tablet or phone in a glass rig, or a prompter with its own screen. It sets mirror, reading line and text size.
  3. Brightness up. The glass passes only part of the light; full brightness keeps the words crisp.
  4. Choose your control. A clicker or foot pedal, a second phone as the remote, or voice follow.

Find your rig above for brand-specific notes: which tablets fit, what owners report about the bundled app, and whether its remote works with Reframely.
